Mercury the messenger, moves from the sign of Scorpio into the sign of Sagittarius today (December 12th). The difference between Scorpio and Sagittarius is “night and day.” Scorpio protects and hides information like their power and effectiveness depends on it.
Mercury in Sagittarius expounds on anything and everything. He knows alot. His tendency is to blurt out secrets and to reveal destabilizing truths – often within the course of a casual conversation. “Sagde” is blunt and usually a bad liar. Exaggeration is more his thing.
So Mercury’s transit through Sagittarius should be interesting when it comes to protecting hidden information. It’s definitely “less safe” under his influence. And it gets even less safe as Mercury moves closer to a conjunction with Jupiter in Sagittarius between now and Dec. 22nd.
Optimism, renewed faith, more freedom, and some expansive, adventurous plans for the future are fascilitated. Whatever ideas occupied your mind around October 31st can now advances in some way.
It’s worth mentioning that after the extraordinary “pile up” of seven planets in retrgrade motion last August, all but one has since turned direct. Only Uranus lags behind in retrograde motion. He’ll turn direct on Jan. 5th – the day of the Capricorn Solar eclipse. Events and “information reveals” should be advancing fairly rapidly. But it all gets really interesting around eclipse time.
Ceres trines Neptune this week. Strong intuition regarding your home, family, and the past guides you in a direction that feels right. Letting go of the past gets easier. Something undermining you might have inherited can now be released. If you want to move away from your current home things tend to coalesce in ways that make it easier.
Venus in Scorpio sextiles Saturn in Capricorn encouraging you to realistically attend to investments, relationship, and financial issues. It may be time to upend, uproot, overhaul, or temporarily destabilize for the sake of maximizing what you’ve been given to work with. Tinkering around the edges is not enough. The truth of the situation must be clarified, agreed to, and accepted first before anything that will stand the test of time can be set in motion.
Financial realities and the passage of time play a bigger role in decision-making. You may sense (and this may be verified in subtle ways) that what you’re pushing for is a better, more promising option. It’s a challenge, though. Things always are when Capricorn is involved.
Pluto in Capricorn (transformation) trines retrograding Juno in Taurus (a contract/ marriage contract/financial contract). The Sagittarius Sun inconjuncts Juno. Adjustments must be made. Delays may ensue as many “moving parts” need to be taken into consideration. Old patterns, arrangements, and expectations may need to be revised. Old assumptions could be undermined. It may be time to overthrow what you once happily agreed to in favor of something more realistic and durable.
Pluto in Capricorn sextiles Mars in Pisces. This is a powerful opportunity to manifest something imaginative that has been gestating for awhile. Healing strategies and methods are overhauled in ways that make them profoundly effective. Behind the scenes activities (and your dream life) may be laced with realistic considerations. A magical or poorly understood phenonmenon is the source of something powerful and practical. Activist art thrives if you trust your intuition to lead you in the right direction – at the right time.
Adventurous plans and ideas thrive when Mercury aligns with Sun/Jupiter in Sagittarius. If your space feels too small or your environment has become stagnant, it’s a good time to imagine something more promising into being. Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn will insist you attend to the realistic side of the equation so it all might actually work. This is a promising time for anyone wishing for something more expansive and interesting.

ARIES (March 21-April 21)
Mars, currently in the sign of Pisces in your 12th house, moves quietly and intuitively behind the scenes to support your drive for financial success. Something complicated (or toxic) from the past is being removed as your ideas and plans take an adventurous turn. Your intuition has kicked into high gear. There is an element of magic involved – the right timing, the right connections, the right signs, the right information finds its way to you. As long as old financial fears are kept in check it seems yoour path is being cleared of remaining obstacles. The first eclipse of 2019 (Jan. 5th) falls in your 10th career house – the house of your life direction and the role you play within the public sphere. What was previously impossible becomes possible. It’s difficult to overstate how unprecendented and freeing this will be once you give circumstances time to unfold and as you continue to rein in familiar fears. Between now and Jan 1st if there’s a choice to hang on or let go, it seems wise to let go.
TAURUS (April 21-May 21)
Venus highlights the relationship sector of your chart. A short window clarifies how you may not have completely released an old tendency to accept a specific kind of abuse that is currently complicating things. Saturn in Capricorn in the future sector of your chart allows you to see how agreements and compromises might realistically play out. It may be time to be more honest (maybe blunt) about how financial arrangements need to be transformed in a way that feels less confining, fear-inducing, or self-defeating. Sexual mistrust may need to be discussed as well. You may have given this some thought over the past three and a half weeks and your perspective may have changed. It’s easier to undo the seeds of chaos and disruption now than it will be after Jan 6th.
Mercury’s move into your 7th house of relationships may entail more honest discussions with a partner (or someone you work with about the future, progress, honesty, freedom, and new possibilities. Negotiations may be especially effective as the urge to be less than forthright is diminished. Later this week Mercury squares Nessus (being abused, being abusive, or both). Discussions may be more challenging or avoided altogether. There is the tendency to be too confident of your expertise, authority, or status. Work agreements and contracts may be poorly defined leaving the door open for misinterpretation. There’s a lot to discuss regarding the nature of relationships, your life, career directions, and the future. Honesty is the key to creating something solid that will stand the test of time.
An intensifying need to confront and undo old relationship patterns (learned from your Mom most likely) is a central theme in the charts of all Cancers this week. You may have felt the intensity of needing to break free since the beginning of November. Back then you might have made some changes. The goal is to be free of the fear of financial instability without a reliable partner to provide it for you. The North node’s recent move into your 1st house of independence is asking you to be more self sufficient. Now through the end of December things need to be taken a step further. Something undermining needs to be mastered – the really difficult, risky stuff that involves reining in fear. It’s likely you’ve learned a lot about financial negotiation, dealing with confining realities, putting your emotions on hold, and the advantage of being patient and waiting for the right time to act. You can feel confident as you make those skills work for you. You have the right to feel secure independent of another’s whims and limitations.
LEO (July 21-Aug 21)
Every year, at this time of year, what’s clarified is the extent to which you’ve been successful in creating a life worth celebrating. The Sun, Jupiter, and now Mercury in your 5th house of love, joy, and freedom of expression encourages you to remove anything standing in the way of creating a life you love. Venus in your forth foundational house hints that something on the homefront needs attending to. Venus in Scorpio sextiles Saturn in Capricorn, encouraging you to realistically attend to fmaily and relationship issues. It may be time to upend, uproot, overhaul, or temporarily destabilize a way of life for the sake of moving onto a more secure track. The truth of the situation must be clarified, agreed to, and accepted FIRST before anything durable can be set in motion.” Glossing over something that seems too powerful or too far gone to change will undermine you. It’s time to speak up, to rock the boat, and to unequivocally “state your case” for protecting your ability to create a life you love.
Mercury officially moves into your 4th house of home and family today. You may feel inspired to state a truth or opinion you’ve been witholding. It’s time to open up a discussion about family issues or issues from the past that can clarify and free you to move into something that feels more secure. You may have wanted to start this conversation on Oct. 31st. Since then your thoughts have deepened and now may be the right time. Complicated issues involve lovers, children, and the need to move beyond underestimating what you deserve. Some kind of better organization, realistic outlook, reliability, or willingness to do the really hard stuff enhances self-respect. Letting go of old “group sanctioned” social rules may be necessary. Friends may offer more support. Finding group support that’s healing may be the answer. There’s something that could be developed within a group that moves you closer to your life’s purpose. It’s time to say what you think in an environment that supports you.
LIBRA (September 21 – October 21)
A restriction within the home (family or past) combined with a mandate to further develop an innate talent presents you with an opportunity. What you value most may be clarified. Necessity is the mother invention. You may be restricted in ways that strengthen you. In retrospect you may be vry grateful for what now feels challenging. Financial contracts (unspoken agreements) may continue to challenge your “old way of being.” Mercury’s move into your third house of communication encourages you to speak your truth and to make clear what is non-negotiable. Maybe you make more room for yourself within the joint decision-making process. Something you thought of back on October 31st can now be set in motion. More faith in yourself, intense curiosity, the freedom to follow up on a hunch and the willingness to speak up, moves you in the direction you need to go.
SCORPIO (October 21 – November 21)
Venus and Ceres in Scorpio encourage you to take some transformative (or dissembling) action regarding nurturing issues, your home, and the past. A more realistic perspective and a more disciplined mind creates an opportunity for you to accomplish something within the realm of communication/publishing/ or storytelling. What once seemed too imaginative, ungrounded, elusive, or socially unacceptable may be ripe for manifestation. Nurturing, security, managing your thoughts, love, and children come into play. There are lots of moving parts. But you have the ability to organize those. Mercury’s recent move into your 2nd house may entail financial negotiations, partnership contracts, balancing power, and a move to unravel old rules about what can be said. What nurtures you most is anything that expands your reach and influence. For Scorpio that usually has something to do with healing the world.
Today you might finally be able to put into words what has been gestating within the deepest recesses of your mind since October 10th. A sense of clarity, a firmer grasp on the truth, artistic inspriration, or evidence of healing may finally be revealed. “Weathering a storm” or “finding your way back” may feel energizing. This is a new day filled with promise, opportunity, and a future that looks bright. Mercury’s move toward Jupiter from now until Dec. 22nd encourages you to speak the truth and to share your depth of knowledge with broader audiences. What challenges your new “high” may be a feeling of loss involving family and the past. It’s important to embrace the nature of your foundational strength which is fluid, artistic, continually shapeshifting, reflective of collective needs, and deeply mysterious. It’s like living on a houseboat. Embracing your fluidity allows you to launch yourself in the direction of success and accomplishment. Telling your story is integral.
CAPRICORN (December 21-January 21)
Saturn and Venus create an opportunity for you to use your grasp of reality and the force of your authority to influence the group mind or community sentiment. Grounding and stabilizing your approach to life (which is fairly challenging) in loyalty to friends, high minded ideas, your role as an enlightened outsider seems wise. Wielding the power you have to make a positive difference in the world works well for you. It’s likely you will gain the respect of friends and enemies through your steady, persistent, realistic approach. Mercury’s move into your hidden 12th house indicates work behind the scenes to develop a plan. The “unveiling” occurs the second week of January. It may be time to release some inflexibility. Something more balanced (emotionally receptive) within the realm of marriage and partnerships needs to be considered and integrated.
AQUARIUS (January 21-February 21)
Black Moon Lillith is a prominent influence in Aquarian’s charts this week. In conflicting aspect to Ceres, Black Moon is challenged to create breakthroughs involving home and family – for herself and others. Mercury moves into your 11th house of friends and allies. It may be time to advance an idea by collaborating with those who can contribute to your success – and you to theirs. Saturn in your 12th house of private/hidden sources of stability seems to be reinforcing and supporting an idea for something powerful you’d love to develop and contribute. It may be time to put things in motion, to develop your idea, and to prepare for the launch of something unique and exciting that reflects the real you – and the story of your life.
PISCES (February 21-March 21)
Today Mercury moves into your 10th house – the house of your career, your reputation, and highest aspirations. It’s time for you to state your case, to tell the truth, to broadcast to the world who you are and what you contribute. Something more expansive and uplifting is now possible as you communicate and relate to the public. It may be time to reveal your plans for the future. Or it may be time to fully step into your future. Your intuition kicks into high gear and guides your life and career in the right direction – as long as you trust it. Venus and Ceres in your 9th house of foreign lands, travel, publishing, and higher education might encourage you to move overseas, to adopt a foreign strategy, or to publish something you’ve been working on. Venus faciliates and eases your way – probably by arranging for the “right kind” of contacts to cross your path.
