Horoscopes for the Week Of Aug. 24th – 30th

(Mosaic Artist – Jenny Sayer)

This week there is a stunning stellium (grouping) of planets and important astrological significators in the sign of Virgo – all bunched up in one solar house. I’ve taken into consideration the Virgo placements Transpluto, the Sun, North Node, Venus, Jupiter, and Mercury.

On Monday though, Venus breaks from the pack as she transits into the sign of Libra, her home base – but not before she’s involved in a few potential skirmishes that could blow the lid off an unsatisfactory relationship “status quo.” Jupiter is getting ready, in a few weeks, to move into the sign of Libra as well.

Mercury gets ready to backtrack (retrograde), through the sign of Virgo through September 21st. This is the last Mercury retrograde of the year. It begins on August 30th – next Tuesday. Already we’re experiencing the slowing as it Mercury prepares to reverse course. The “monkey wrench” is occasionally already being thrown into our best laid plans. The “snafus”, unexpected delays, missteps, and mistakes are already becoming apparent. The message?

We have to be more careful, more discriminating, more attentive to detail – especially within the realm of communication. Pisces, Virgo’s counterpoint, is suggesting forgiveness, compassion, and the ability to “shape-shift” and adapt as appropriate.

Neptune and Chiron in opposition seek to integrate and balance all that’s going on in Virgo. This might feel like an abundance of work and responsibility that keeps you from being able to focus on your dreams. And it might make you angry or frustrated because Mars and Saturn are agitating from a 90 degree angle – creating challenges that make it difficult to feel “ok” and exceedingly patient with it all.

Neptune opposing all that Virgo could make you feel victimized. But Saturn/Mars might make you willing to do something about that. This might come in the form of speaking the truth about what you need to be able to feel inspired, enthused about your future, and less confined. It might involve inconveniencing others, though, and Virgo tends to prefer the familiar pattern of inconveniencing herself instead.

Gemini counterbalances Sagittarius encouraging you to focus on the quality of your “present moments.” If those are consistently diminishing your life in some way, you might want to clarify what you believe about sacrificing your present for your future. Virgo works in your favor to identify the pivotal “flaw” that could be fixed to improve things significantly. There are no prizes for suffering in silence though Neptune could lull you into thinking that’s your only option. That is an illusion and maybe a convenient cop-out.

I will focus on personalizing the massive Virgo emphasis for each sign – and the Venus break-through.

Keep in mind that we’re now under the influence of a major solar eclipse in Virgo on September 1st.

Thanks for reading as always,

ARIES (March 21-April 21)
The most productive focus for Aries this week may be a flexibility of perspective that allows you to view difernelty circumstances and challenges that appear to be replicating themselves over and over. Time to switch the lens through which you’ve been viewing your reality – a reality that’s most likely frustrating you. As you do that, observe how things begin to change. This is not a behavioral thing, it’s a mental shift in your interpretation of the reason current circumstances exist. Maybe your current circumstances are testing how determined you are not to give up on what you desire most, no matter what that takes. Do you really want what you say you want? Do you really believe you deserve to have it? Are you willing to do the one thing you hoped you’d never have to do to get it? The answers to those questions may change the current trajectory. This is the Hero’s journey. Time to take on the Hero’s role.

TAURUS (April 21-May 21)
Venus, the ruler of your sign, and therefore a very powerful and central influence, is moving into your 6th house of work and responsibility. this give you a break if you will take it. This is a time for you to rest, relax, recuperate, and recharge. It’s time to eat nourishing food that another prepares for you, to let someone else watch the kids for awhile, to indulge guilt-free in enjoying luxury, fine craftsmanship, art, beauty, and transportive experiences. It seems others are willing to step in, to cooperate and lighten your load. Let them, and get reacquainted with the parts of yourself that are actually most useful to others. Without your example the rest of us don’t really know how to slow down and truly savor something rich, sensual, simple, and deeply satisfying. That’s not one of your “flaws.” It’s one of your greatest strengths. Now you have the opportunity to reconnect with the most beautiful and useful aspects of yourself as we all benefit. Take it.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21)
Gemini continues to improve, fortify, and reconnect with “home base” this week. Your entire soul may be involved in the project. It may be necessary to define, in more detail, what kind of home your soul craves and to use that as your guiding vision for the kind of improvements you make on your current place of residence – or the home you may need to search for for yourself. Holding within your imagination what kind of dwelling place you most desire is important this week. As Venus moves into the sign of Libra, your home (or the one you imagine in your mind) may become a source of great joy for you. What you surround yourself with matters. Hopefully it is love, things you love, those you love, and friends and allies who have supported you unfailingly in the past. Don’t be surprised if your professional life benefits greatly as a result.

CANCER (June 21-July 21)
Venus moves into your 4th solar house this week – the house that symbolizes your home, your family, your roots, and your foundation. It is likely that Venus will provide benefits in the form of added grace and flexibility to your emotional experiences… and to everything you experience or wish to achieve. The impending solar eclipse is increasing the pace of your life dramatically, but it will be difficult to throw you off balance with Venus infusing it’s fortifying and strengthening brand of love into your foundational base. You are securely anchored. What you attract this week will tend to be overwhelmingly abundant yet consistently delightful, beautiful, joyful, unexpectedly graceful, and soul-enriching. Take in as much as you can. This is a shower of amazing gifts that you may not have time to deeply savor, but their influence will significantly alter your life perspective in some very positive and lasting ways.

LEO (July 21-Aug 21)
The emphasis for Leo this week is in their solar 2nd house – the house that encourages you to “ground your ideas.” Look for ways to develop your most creative thoughts – especially those ideas you’ve had in the past that continue to nudge you every once in awhile – the ones that refuse to go away. You might want to think in terms of patenting an idea you have…something that is needed but does not yet exist – something your mind invents and you’re unique experience enables you to recognize as potentially useful and maybe life-changing. It’s time to stop and really think about what you’re thinking and imagining. Your ideas could be valuable in some very practical ways – to you and to others. The opportunity for a life of financial stability and freedom may hinge on your follow-through. This week the universe presents those kinds of opportunities. Adjust your attention and thought patterns to extract more from your work experiences.

VIRGO (August 21-September 21)

This week Virgo is able to bring their imaginary life into full manifestation – to integrate it in some creative way into their entire style and approach to life while making it more useful in the process. An idea, feeling, “psychic knowing,” inner guidance, or imaginary relationship, has matured to the point where if presented outwardly in an organized, practical way, could be of great service to others. Another (a partner, healer, or casual acquaintance) may give you clues as to how this can be done. Simply stated you may have more confidence this week in the value of what’s existed only in your head and heart for quite awhile. Outwardly manifesting it may require a complete role adaptation. You may change the way you present yourself to the world as you seek to integrate more of who you are in service to the potential that has always existed within you. Venus will assist you in gracefully stabilizing your new, more integrated self.

LIBRA (September 21-October 21)
A sense of confinement brought on by the invisible heavy load of responsibility and pain you carry on your back is about to end – at least in part. There is a new beginning within the realm of relationships that holds the promise of a more equitable “division of labor” if you allow it. Something more fair and just, graceful, kind, and appreciative seems within reach. It is wise to deliberately move in that direction despite previous resistance. The key that will unlock the vast potential that exists within you is a different kind of role within the realm of relationships. Your potential has evolved and developed to the point of full manifestation. It’s time to unleash it. It’s time to step into something bigger and freer – maybe with someone bigger and freer – that can accept with open arms and gratitude the magnitude of what you now have to offer.

SCORPIO (October 21 – November 21)
Scorpio may be thinking in terms of how to manifest a life that is uniquely their own without breaking the rules that have always been in place for them – keeping them “in line.” That seems impossible now. Virtuous non-conformity is the emerging challenge. Scorpio must break some rules while figuring out how to use, and how to make useful, the most unique, crusading, rebellious, and distinctive parts of themselves. It is no longer possible to move forward without ruffling some feathers or maybe shocking the daylights out of others – for a good cause. The cause is actually very basic – a more loving and kind approach to yourself and the aspects of your personality that make you distinct and “one-of-a-kind.” Lovers, children, and friends reflect back to you what needs to be done. The reward for deciding to make a break from conformity is unprecedented peace of mind – in general a rare commodity for Scorpio.

SAGITTARIUS (November 21- December 21)
At the moment Sagittarius may be in the process of identifying the “flaw in their thinking” that keeps them from attaining the level of success they aspire to. Chances are you will be able to identify it, in detail, this week – if you haven’t already. It’s time to embark on an effective program to de-program yourself and to replace what’s held you back with something inspiring and practical that propels you forward. You are on the brink of some major breakthrough. Opportunities may be surrounding you while past, unwitting, maybe subconscious, attempts to undermine your success dissolve. Outwardly the coast is clear. What left to be done is to clear the “inner coast.” Some unwinding of old thought patterns may be required as Mercury moves retrograde. Keep in mind that a major new Moon eclipse in your 10th solar house of success occurs on September 1st. If there is no breakthrough it’s not because the Universe isn’t bending over backwards to asset you in making that happen.

CAPRICORN (December 21-January 21)
Venus moves over your solar midheaven this week ending a period of “working hard for little gain” and “learning to downsize your expectations in exchange for what you might “realistically” be able to achieve. Now it’s time to adapt to something kinder, easier, more facilitative and supportive. The road blocks and dead ends are being removed, and, once again, it’s full steam ahead for you professionally. So leave the past behind after you ascribe some meaning to the past frustrations. Maybe they were necessary because_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ you fill in the blanks. Maybe the Universe is done teaching you some important lessons about attending to detail and updating your skills. Now all that may hold you back is holding onto your shrunken expectations. Don’t do that. Move on, expect more support, more cooperation, more success, and greater rewards. All the cosmic signs are pointing in this new direction.

AQUARIUS (January 21-February 21)
The trap for Aquarius is allowing others to over-power their instinctive ways of being. It is possible you are anticipating an influx of overwhelming influences – powerful people, family members, crowds – that could separate you from yourself forcing you to conform, perform, or otherwise undermine your most valuable contribution to the world. Remember you were born to buck the trends, to show others how to courageously be themselves, to rebel against injustice, stultifying conformity, and “the way it’s always been done.” Time now to be more you than you’ve ever been – not just for your own sake, but for the sake of those who really need to see a living, breathing example of how to live life courageously their own way.

PISCES (February 21-March 21)
The sign of Pisces is tasked with the responsibility of being the counterweight to the abundance of Virgo energy now making it’s influence known. Because that influence is bunched up in your 7th house of relationships, others, balance, and dependence, it may be time for you to assert your independence more powerfully than you ever have. Now is the time to be who you are unapologetically. I know that Virgo has little respect for what’s impractical, unproven, mysterious, airy-fairy, nebulous, or inspiring but not tangibly useful. But that’s your area of expertise. Don’t be intimidated. Virgo (and the world) could really could use a little inspiration at the moment – something more imaginative, dreamy, and transportive. Your most important contribution this week is to infuse that into the world by unleashing and exposing the magical aspects of yourself you’ve been trained to hide or downplay.
