The main event this week is the Summer Solstice and the Sun’s move into the imaginative sign of Cancer on Sunday, June 21st, Father’s Day. This is a pivotal personal turning point. It reflects the Sun in relation to the movement of the earth. The earth has now tilted as far as possible toward the Sun in the Northern hemisphere and as far away as possible in the Southern hemisphere. The solstice stops the action temporarily to accommodate a change in direction, similar to a planet entering into retrograde motion. We may feel that on some level. After a temporary pause, and, possibly an interruption in the convenient flow of life, momentum begins to build in a new direction.
The Summer Solstice chart puts the all important Moon (the ruler of Cancer) at the critical 29th degree of Leo, emphasizing joy and an exuberant, child-like approach to life, love, and creative immersion. Leo Moons crave love and admiration. They are most likely to feel that when they focus on benefitting humanity in ways that showcase their very unique set of talents.
Saturn, now back in the critical 29th degree of “life and death” Scorpio, rubs this Leo Moon the “wrong” way (or exactly the right way, depending on your perspective). It probably won’t feel convenient, though. Yesterday’s new Moon may bring us back to a focus on healing whatever lingers unresolved.
Something we had “put behind us” comes up again. There is a pause in the action that reflects the “cosmic agenda” and may interfere with our own agenda. The meaning we ascribe to this experience is critical. It can be helpful to be aware of how we’re interpreting whats happening in our lives now. A change in perspective regarding what our current experience means to us changes everything. An abundance of “Gemini energy” now available, can energize some amazing mental agility and versatility.
If the universe is bringing you back to something painful, most likely you are being shown a specific areas of foundational weakness. The story you’ve been telling yourself about yourself may not be totally true. This week is your chance to realign through a willingness to focus on the truth and an agenda that transcends your own.
On the other hand you may be “brought back” to be reminded of how different you are from the person you were two and a half years ago. You may be reaping the rewards of what you’ve worked hard to develop since October of 2012. You may get a chance to use evolving strengths in ways that serve you (and others) especially well now.
As always, thanks for reading,

ARIES (March 21-April 21)
Aries is on the verge this week of moving away from special formulas, the smartest strategies, the most effective recommended approaches, and the necessity of keeping it all more rational than personal and heart felt. There has been a tendency not to trust your heart where matters of life and death, or matters that just seemed like life and death, were concerned. This may have been rooted in some major blow to your strength or confidence. An uptightness replaced what “felt right,” But now things may be changing. Your sensitivity will be peaking shortly. Paying attention to signals from your body and the universe can work in your favor. Formulas can now be individualized to your specific needs. Relaxation and surrender may now work better than rigid adherence to something disconnected from personal appetites and preferences. It’s time to surrender and to reconnect with what it is you truly need.
This week you may be involved in a balancing act that requires the agility and intelligence you were born with. Through no fault of your own, you came into the world with the ability to make up for another’s shortcomings and to “balance” in the broadest context of that word. You are able, through deft adjustments, to accommodate another’s excesses, to change direction according to cues you pick up from another, to communicate in ways that stabilize, and to fill in gaps with much needed information. In your presence, others may be carried away by wishful thinking, by distancing themselves in some way, by slip-shod preparation, and “big picture” thinking, leaving you to make up the difference. Almost always you’re able to do that. This week those skills will be getting a workout that feels more vigorous than usual.
Gemini may be tempted to revert to some old line of thinking this week, to travel some familiar roads, or to become paralyzed by overwhelming emotions. It may seem that you have recently taken some “leaps of faith” that would indicate a “moving on” from old issues such as guilt, perfectionism, or focus on some “critical flaw” that had the potential to limit you. There is the need to be hyper vigilant just a little longer, to resolve, once and for all, what continues to linger in the shadows. Your willingness to bulldoze through areas that once prevented progress allow you to pave new roads that gain you easier and faster access to what you want. It is not necessary to figure out how to “get around” old blockages. The cosmos is offering you the opportunity to destroy them and to release an abundance of energy they’re holding captive. At stake is the full expression of your brilliant mind.
Cancer seems on the verge of a new style and approach to life – something about yourself that has survived in darkness, beneath the surface, hidden from view, and limited for a long time. This week may be the week of some major change. Cancers are used to “carrying their house on their back” for protection. Your symbol, the crab on the beach, indicates a comfort with vulnerabilities hidden from view and the protection your hard shell offers. But what happens now may be uncharacteristic. You may be curious about what would happen if you “came out” temporarily – “stepped outside the shell” to see what life feels like out in the open, unencumbered. It is possible that you may not be annihilated. In fact, more likely is the realization of how good it feels to be free and to have a choice. You can stay hidden and protected or you can reveal your true self. This week marks some major new beginning.
This week the Sun moves into delicate “12th house” territory and the need to end, resolve, or eliminate all that has become useless to you since last summer. It indicates an emphasis on “ghosts from the past that still lurk within the deepest recesses of your mind, things you want to avoid, things you cannot control, and emotions you choose to hide. You may be reminded of old unhealed wounds, vague fears of the unknown, and old karmic debts yet to be paid. This is your chance to free yourself of the “garbage” that has accumulated. A deep “housecleaning” behind the scenes of your life, is now in order. In those spaces only you can access, it’s time to forgive, forget, and surrender. Embarking on a detoxification program could be especially timely. Another way to look at it is that this is your personal “New Years Eve” time of year. You are on the verge of a new beginning and a whole new world of possibilities.
Virgo has the chance to control their mind in ways they’ve had some practice developing in the past. The “old ghosts” of “past patterns” may have returned, in some form, to trip you up, to test your skills, or strengthen your resolve. But this road is familiar, less threatening, and of the kind that could “turn friendly” with less of a reactionary approach. Relaxation is key. Don’t try too hard or get too involved with deeper issues or profound worrying. Instead take in a deep breath, skim the surface, surf the wave, and know it’s all something temporary that will mostly sort itself out – if you let it. Not everything deserves your attention and there is plenty of interesting, and lighter “goings on” to distract you. Heaviness is an invitation you should decline this week. is not your friend and, interestingly, it is not what allows you to lead, to achieve your goals, or elevate your position.
My recommendation for Libra this week is a formula for getting exactly what you most desire. It has to do with a balance between concentrated effort and surrender, and with controlling your mind while enlisting your higher mind. For 15 minutes focus intently on something you genuinely desire. Feel what it would be like to be in possession of it. Think about how things would be different, what you would say, what you would do, the gratitude you would feel, etc. Arrange to be free of anything in your immediate environment that could distract you during this 15 minute time span. Then, and this is the critical second part of the equation, let it go. Don’t think about it again. If thoughts of it enter your mind again, gently escort them out and get on with your life. This is your message to your higher mind that you trust it, respect it, have no need to micromanage it, or to deny its mysterious nature.
Scorpio may be returning to the realization that their style and approach to life is too limiting in some way, that their power is waning or failing to reach its full potential, that their ability to lead is in question, or that their confidence is continuing to be undermined. Dark emotions may surface and the issue of what motivates you may be on the table. If you’ve been dealing with too much limitation for too long, toxicity may be an issue that poisons the well. Vindictiveness, manipulation, deliberate destruction, and fear are not unheard of “Scorpio” tendencies. This week its time to examine your motives. This is your last best chance, for awhile, to rework your style and approach, especially where it concerns your role in relationships. The summer is your time to get it right and to exponentially increase your power in all ways, but especially your power to heal – both yourself and others.
Sagittarius, once again, returns to the knowledge that all is not entirely well beneath the surface. There are outward signs of stress that indicate something is still amiss despite all the effort over the past two and a half years to heal and detoxify “ghosts from the past.” Before you get too discouraged, know you are essentially in the “clean up phase.” Most of the heavy lifting has already been done. My friend Diana gave me the gift of the following sentiment “I used to wait for a sign she said, before doing anything. Then one night I had a dream and an angel in black tights came to me and said “you can start anytime now.” And then I said, is this a sign? And the angel started laughing and I woke up. Now I think the whole world is filled with signs, but if there is no laughter, I know they’re not for me.” Laughter must accompany any technique that would be capable of finally setting you free.
Capricorn has reached the time of year where they are required to clear up any unfinished personal business, health issues, confusion surrounding job description, or fulfillment of responsibilities you’ve taken on over in the past year. What remains left undone in these areas of life can impact your ability to take the next step into a more high profile and extroverted role in the world. Essentially you have been honing personal skills in preparation for a more demanding role for the past six months. You may now see light at the end of the tunnel. What could ease you into the next phase is a conversation that lets you know you are loved (or liked) and understood maybe by coworkers. Any effort by you to understand and empathize with another may feel especially healing for you, as well. You are clearing the way for more warmth in all of your relationships now. Tie up the loose ends this week.
AQUARIUS (January 21-February 21)
Aquarius experiences a new opening where creativity and expressing their soul is concerned. A difficult healing process is just about complete. A new beginning concerns the achievement of a level of mastery that allows you to harness some beautiful thoughts an ideas that now flow unimpeded. Previously blocked nergy has been released. Relaxation aids you in all your artistic efforts. What has been a difficult two and a half years has unfolded in beneficial ways you could not have imagined just months ago. Let the expansion begin! The sky is the limit. What is most important now is that you heal through your particular “art form.” Starting work on your book may be something that begins this week. Organizing a presentation that has taken a lifetime to create, or a speech capable of moving the masses needs to be put into solid form. Speaking from the heart is now more possible than its ever been.
PISCES (February 21-March 21)
Pisces is challenged this week to move away from the superficial world of tactics and strategies into the emotional depths. You are on the verge of something heart-warming that allows you to connect on a deeper level to yourself and to others. But still you are pulled back into the world of superficial concerns and everyday busyness. Betwixt and between describes your life this week and it could feel taxing. It won’t be long though before you’re free to immerse yourself in what you love most. Deep connections to a child, a lover, or an art form may consume you. Home and family may take center stage. The past may be highlighted in ways that revitalize old emotional connections. You may feel more joyful as you submerged yourself in the things that hold the most meaning for you. It’s both lightness and fun and the depths of your heart that you navigate expertly this week.
