Aquarius is a fixed, contrarian sign – highly capable of disrupting any system or tradition. Aquarians are opposed to aligning themselves with restrictive traditions – or agreeing to sign up for what they suspect will require them to live up to another’s expectations. Overthrowing what’s been established or “set in stone” is their specialty.
This week’s “New Moon beginning,” in the rebellious sign of Aquarius, is dead serious about changing the game in significant ways – personally, within groups, or as it relates to global change. Making progress in a direction that feels individualistic, but also authentically aligned with with “who one is and what they represent” is critical.
Uranus, the modern planetary ruler of Aquarius, is place in a challenging square aspect to this New Moon. Uranus and Aquarius are intricately connected. Uranus is the modern “ruler” of Aquarius. What that signifies is a conflict between two immoveable, highly determined, and uncompromising energies.
It’s complicated. Because Uranus rules Aquarius this can feel like you’re “at war” with (or resisting) a critical part of yourself. Moving forward can ignite a crisis between what’s comfortable and familiar vs. what’s promising and enlightened. You’ll be challenged to move away from wild extremes in an effort to stabilize yourself, to work through old restrictions, release the past, and to progress in the direction of something that feels authentic to you.
Venus in Capricorn recently shifted into direct motion (Jan. 29th) after a challenging retrograde cycle lasting from Dec. 19th through Jan. 29th, 2022. this was a period of rethinking, reconsidering, and re-evaluating the nature of your relationships with another as well as the nature of your financial reality.
Currently every planet except Mercury is now moving in direct motion. Moving forward at an accelerated pace will be a possibility on Friday February 4th when Mercury turns direct.
A major breakthrough is possible. The nodes determine the most promising direction for you – clarifying what’s run it’s course – and is no longer viable.
The Sabian symbol for this new Moon speaks to “masterful and revolutionary use of the internet,” keeping abreast of the latest cultural and political events, “picking up on an emerging new vibe,” considering all the angles until the truth is revealed, pushing the envelope, and knowing exactly how much one you “get away with.”
On its way to a culmination of this new Moon, the Moon passes over the powerfully intense, transformative planet Pluto. Despite the tendency for Aquarius to be emotionally detached and “above the fray” it’s likely emotions will intensify for a day o two sometime this week.
