Horoscopes for the Week of Oct. 17th – 22nd

This week the main event is Wednesday’s Aries Full Moon. Currently we’re under it’s gradually intensifying spell. It’s time to make some difficult adjustments or concessions before Wednesdays full Moon. Holding on “too tightly” or asserting total control within the realm of relationships is likely to backfire in emotionally painful ways.

This full Moon has the potential to be traumatic. It’s complicated. Mars in Libra is impatient and possibly too aggressive. He opposes this emotional Full Moon – and squares Pluto.

Mars/Pluto squares have a nasty reputation. They tend to be brutal, dark, and over-estimating of the amount of force necessary to “crush the opposition.” In the short run the battle may be won. In long run brutal actions tend to set in motion a chronically persistent and devastating undermining effect.

Full Moon’s represent culminations, endings, clarifications, important decisions, and moves “back to the center.”

Releasing a tendency to over-control or micro-manage seems important – especially when Mars and Pluto are challenging one another – and your security/survival seems at stake.

The upside of Mars/Pluto is an ability to focus intently on a challenging – seemingly impossible goal – and to apply the self-discipline required to make some major progress.

Libras, Cancers, Scorpios, and Aires may be most affected by this full Moon.

It’s a good time to be aware of the fear that tends to “tighten your grip” – in preparation for a transformative new beginning on Nov.4th.

This week’s major events include Jupiter’s turn into direct motion at 22 degrees of Aquarius. Jupiter has been moving in retrograde motion since June 20, 2021. This is a big deal – especially for Sagittarians, anyone in need of a lucky break, or a return to optimistic hopefulness.

Also on Wednesday Mercury turns into direct motion at 10 degrees of Libra. We’ve retraced our steps, reconsidered, and backtracked long enough to feel more confident making the decision and moving forward. (Mercury has been in retrograde motion since September 27th.)

On Saturday, Oct. 23rd the Sun enters the sign of Scorpio at 2:51 AM EDT. The Sun has been focused on relationships and balance during it’s month long trek through Libra. The emphasis will be different when the Scorpio Sun begins to expose “what lies beneath” and what’s true – especially as it relates to financial partnerships and power.

ARIES (March 21-April 21)
Something complicated or treacherous relates to actions within the realm of relationships. A relentless desire to achieve a higher status, equal power, and more control over your life and relationships may be at play. The release of something intense and filled with fear could promote a return to balance. Some progress may be achieved in the social sector of your life. Allies and friends cultivated over time work in your favor to promote your success. Courageously pushing through a chronic vulnerability allows you to release the fear of making a few important demands for the sake of your own personal and professional success.

TAURUS (April 21-May 21)
This full Moon highlights issues related to your health, routines, and responsibilities. A balanced give and take involves cooperation and sacrifices that feel more equally balanced between you and another. The workplace, a care-giving situation, or your relationship with co-workers may be highlighted. Acting courageously from behind the scenes to promote a return to balance within a financial partnership seems important. Decisions involving inheritance, children and some disruptive information could be significant. An agreement might need more work. Something contentious might require you to act from a position of courage with an equitable outcome in mind.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21)
This full Moon is expressed in the areas of life that relate to romantic love, creative self expression, and children. Cultivating a network of relationships that enhance and support the realization of personal desires and talents may be off-balance in some regard. There is some personal vulnerability involved in cultivating the social networks you need. Lovers, children, and creative projects might leave you with little time or money to promote something more balanced. Anger could trigger resentments involving financial partnerships. Suspicions could emerge. But Mercury trines Black Moon Lilith. You have a communication talent advantage that can be paired with disruption and rebellion to cultivate the networks you need.

CANCER (June 21-July 21)
This full Moon emphasizes the interplay between personal and professional concerns and possibly an imbalance that can put you at a disadvantage. Mars may be angry and pushing for something more balanced on the “home-front” or within the realm of a committed relationship. Taking some drastic action if the balance of power is not restored might be considered. Mercury seems to be working “hand-in-glove” from behind the scenes to disrupt an imbalanced status quo. Adjustments to your perspective may be required. The stakes seem high.

LEO (July 21-Aug 21)
Communications and connections need to fit “hand in glove” with some ambitious agenda or for the future. Fear related to your need to micro-manage or over-control the work environment might have resulted in some significant work/life imbalance – or lack of trust in yourself and the future. Something more balanced and relaxed on a daily basis might be required. You might need a vacation or break from a routine that could be diminishing your ability to “branch out” and expand your reach. It might be time to be more aware of your thoughts and to provide daily corrections if you feel compelled to over-control – or to believe that micro-managing works in your favor overall.

VIRGO (August 21-Sep 21)
This full Moon involves the balance between what you contribute monetarily and what you receive in exchange. Something could be off and in need of a correction. An imbalance could involve communication that seeks “peace at any price” until a trigger activates something over-controlling within the realm of love. Possessiveness could be an issue. Survival issues and suspicions might tip the scales in the direction of something imbalanced. Addressing a vulnerability related to an imbalance of power or lack of trust where financial partnerships are involved might be necessary. On a different note intimacy and trust issues almost always reflect a reluctance to address “the elephant in the room.” Throwing your entire lot in with another” could intensity fear. This is most likely a complicated full Moon for Virgos – but the perfect opportunity to restore the balance that’s been lost.

LIBRA (September 21 – October 21)
This full Moon involves issues related to cooperation and concessions vs. standing your ground and advocating for yourself. Making some demands that inconvenience others might represent progress in an area of vulnerability for you. Initiating something new with regard to the way relationships have always worked for you could trigger intense fear with regard to accessing your main source of security and survival. But Pluto has recently moved into direct motion. It’s time for you to make some progress related to a complete transformation or massive overhaul that involves something innovative, disruptive, and freeing.

SCORPIO (October 21 – November 21)
For Scorpio a return to balance involves a hidden or lost relationship, easy access to subconscious information, and it’s connection to accessing “the finer things in life.” Work environments, health routines, and you’re responsibilities might feel “off” or mismatched in some regard. An emotional reality related to work and responsibility might feel less interesting than whats going on subjectively, in your mind or imagination. But Mars tends to trigger some old resentment related to a cover-up, a betrayal, lies, and fabrications. It might be time to forgive another – or to forgive yourself. Accepting some responsibility for being intuitively pre-occupied could promote a return to balance.

SAGITTARIUS (November 21- December 21)
This week’s full Moon involves the 5th and 11th sectors of your chart. Those involve love affairs, creativity, and the group or network you’ve cultivated to support further development of your talent. The nature or extent of your talents might be an area of vulnerability for you. You might doubt the authenticity of your talent despite solid evidence to the contrary. Insecurity could be an issue that encourages you to drift or refuse to commit socially. But Jupiter, the ruler of your chart, moves into direct motion on Wednesday. Confidence and optimism returns. Lucky breaks make a come-back. Opportunities multiply. Faith in yourself and the future become solid (and possibly balanced) once again.

CAPRICORN (December 21 – January 21)
This week issues of balance relate to your home life and your professional life. Mars in the sign of Libra (relationships) triggers or exposes something controlling, nefarious, and possibly undermining where your physical body and health are concerns. Physical issues may be complicated to address. Financial worries and responsibilities could be quietly debilitating in a way that throws things off balance. The bulk of the financial responsibility for just about everything falls on your shoulders. You might like the control that gives you. But your physical body might not. Fortunately Saturn in Aquarius is now moving in direct motion in your 2nd house of financial responsibility. Financial progress gets easier. Mercury’s turn into direct motion makes achieving your professional goals and advancing your status easier. Don’t override physical and sensory signals. Respond intelligently to them.

AQUARIUS (January 21 – February 21)
This full Moon highlights the 3rd and 9th sectors of your chart. An area of vulnerability involving communicating and connecting can throw future plans for expanding partnerships off balance. Mars isn’t patient when it comes to cultivating partnership opportunities. Sometimes short cuts are preferred that dissolve what might have been a promising collaboration. Sometimes this results in creating powerful hidden enemies that work against you from behind the scenes – and throw things off balance. Now is the time to be upfront, honest, and straight forward despite the risk. Aquarius is likely to want to act independently despite the extra work involved. Jupiter’s move into direct motion is likely to hand Aquarius a few lucky breaks or promising opportunities.

PISCES (February 21 – March 21)
Financial independence vs. cooperation within the realm of a financial partnership could be an issue involving balance, or requiring a decision, or ending. It might be time for a professional commitment to end. Some adjustments might need to be made – possibly the result of some deep introspection or confrontation with what’s true for you. Jupiter’s move into direct motion on Wednesday of this week gives you the confidence you need to move forward independently. You can expect a few lucky breaks once you release what’s not working well for you – possibly within the realm of relationships. If you’ve been waiting for a time to wrap things up or to end a cycle that’s run it’s course – this could be it.
