On Friday Mercury, the planet of communication and mindset enters the sign of Virgo. Critical attention to detail is indicated as well as a focus on health, responsibility, and how competent and effective we feel ourselves to be.
On Saturday Mars, the action oriented planet moves into the sign of Leo. Now we focus on ourselves, our creative projects, our leadership ability, and generating an atmosphere more filled with joy. Children and their welfare move to center stage as we focus on them.
Saturn, now in direct motion, makes us feel as though we can accomplish something as we move forward. A period of reorganization has ended. It’s now full steam ahead.
Have a great week!!

ARIES (March 21-April 21)
Aries experiences a shift away from the nurturing, home, family, security focus, into the realm of personal self-expression. A focus on the self, and becoming reacquainted with what it is that infuses joy into your life is required and probably welcomed. There is a new freedom and the beginning of a creative cycle that lasts for the next year. Your responsibilities will soon be focused on creating the type of future you want and less on the claustrophobic nature of another’s limitations and hang ups. It is no longer necessary to be limited by another. That ground has been covered. There is some kind of adventure waiting for you, something infused with magic, mystery, and the discovery of brilliant new facets of yourself. What is most motivating now is joy. Fears for your security need to relegated to the past. Your future is happening now and creative urges can no longer be suppressed.
There is a major shift this week that rattles your “inner workings” in some way. Old ways of asserting yourself, particularly related to nourishment – how you nurture yourself and others, relate to your home and family, and make yourself feel secure are in need of major change. What has been put off for too long in the interest of “taking care of others” must be addressed. A focus on the self may feel uncomfortable, but the time has come to cure what ails you, to uproot the cause of anxiety, habits that undermine health, and personal spiritual malnourishment. You are most in need of what you’ve always strived to provide for others. Symbolically what is represented is the need for a complete overhaul of your attitude toward self-sacrifice. A major transformation is in order. Avoidance is no longer possible without serious long-term consequences. Taking control of the process rather than resisting is wise.
Relationships are currently challenging your commitments to the past, to your old way of being, to your old ways of finding stability and security within. There are new beginnings emerging as you experience the pull of the past. A “clean break” is not always the way things proceed. As a brilliant astrologer reminds us, in nature the old mixes with the new. Decaying debris fertilizes and nourishes new growth. They co-exist as if it’s the most natural thing in the world because it is. But humans can be confused by it, thinking that something is wrong, or missing, or not proceeding “according to plan.” A new perspective is now possible, and, as always, for Gemini, there is no better template for living your life than the natural world. You are intricately connected to it on a soul level. Immersion in the natural world always brings you back to a solid sense of yourself. Knowing this can be especially useful during times of transition and change – like now.
Since February of 2014 Cancer’s have been challenged to let go of old ways that create personal imbalance. Too much attention to pleasing others at the expense of your own needs was most likely an issue…or less likely, the opposite dynamic (too much effort to please the self at another’s expense). This week there is a significant shift that shines the light of day on how far you’ve come. This week you may more assertively express your own needs, especially as those relate to the values and priorities you cherish, your financial security, and demanding time to develop innate talents that have been put “on hold” for awhile. Your “survival” on some level, becomes an issue. How do you ensure that you settle into a balanced, sustainable approach to life, grounded in self-care and a type of “self possession” that allows you to consistently and confidently determine where your responsibilities end and another’s begin? Being kind is important. But inconveniencing yourself compulsively for the sake of others is neither necessary nor wise.
For a period of time Leo has felt “in the dark” and possibly fearful of dealing with a long standing problem… or expressing “full-throttle” all that’s amazing and wonderful about their life. Unknowns may have prevented a confident, “hands-on,” approach to uninhibited expressions and shaping the future in some critical way. This week that changes. Something is clarified and you are able to step into your natural role as a “creative genius.” To get back into the swing, it may be time to ground some future plan, to put into writing something artistically inspired, illuminated, or technically accurate. It’s time to clarify what you value most and to make sure that your resources and efforts are aligned with your top priorities. Fortifying your stability and putting up a fight, or renewing your efforts and standing your ground, ushers in a new beginning. This week (next Tuesday) marks movement through an important threshold and sets the tone for the next twelve months.
This week it is wise to consider some strategies to release yourself from the tired definitions of who you used to be. Your old self has run it’s course. It’s time to reinvent, to move on, to experiment with new ways of being, and a new and different kind of relationship with yourself. Virgo can remain tied to old responsibilities that no longer hold meaning for them. In the process they create a type of toxicity that undermines their health and the health of those around them. Sometimes it helps to purge belongings, to decide what you will keep and what you will discard. What do you possess that is no longer useful to you. If you’re thinking about a “storage unit” think instead of the freedom and joy involved in owning few possessions and a clearing the slate. It’s time to begin writing a new and very different kind of life story. It’s time to get to know the person you’ve become and to say a respectful but firm “good-bye” to what’s become less than vital.
Libra is a much needed influence these days as complicated realities and multi-faceted problems demand cooperative efforts. Effective negotiating, listening, give and take, promotion of fairness, and the willingness to sacrifice something of value in return for something even more valuable is required. Most don’t understands. Seeking common ground can be a foreign concept for many. This is where your most natural way of being needs to dominate. Culturally, winning is everything, but the complicated problems we face globally and personally are not “you win/I loose” propositions. We all win or we all lose and it all hinges on a willingness to cooperate and to generate the motivation to do so. Libras are particularly adept in this regard. This week it’s time for you to take the lead, to feel confident your way is best, and to patiently show others how to do the hard things you make look so easy.
SCORPIO (October 21 – November 21)
Complicated realities and multi-faceted problems overwhelm most of us. We’re especially challenged to find solutions when a “tangled mess” demands clarity, confidence, and a transcendent kind of illumination. These days most problems seem to be of this nature. Everything is connected to everything else. Change in one realm activates change in another. But you know all of this. Scorpios deal with complicated issues as a matter of course. It’s who you are and what you do. This week your clear advantage in this regard offers some amazing rewards. You have a sixth sense when it comes to knowing what actions to take and, more importantly, what needs to be salvaged and protected. There is love underlying complicated messes and you can feel it. It empowers and nourishes. It clears a path toward something more meaningful and hopeful. It inspires and transcends. This week, through you, the rest of us feel more hopeful.
Sagittarians tend to ask “can’t we all just have some fun here?” And the answer this week may be no, not until you take the lead in fixing an ongoing problem. Not until you rattle some cages, get in someone’s face, tell the truth with no holds barred, and stop shrinking from a challenge you’ve thus far convinced yourself is none of your business. Or maybe you believe that it will work itself out. The role you play as “the enforcer” may be a complicated one, I admit. It comes with some risk of alienation and loss. But there is something of value that must be salvaged. There is something only you can see, only you can feel, and only you can solve. Someone, possibly a child, is depending on you. By mid-September you will know if you have made a difference, if you need to push harder, assert your authority more confidently, or lower the boom. Freedom to thrive is the issue.
CAPRICORN (December 21-January 21)
Capricorns may be deserving of a rest this week, finishing up some strenuous effort to compromise, cooperate, yet remain the “voice of reason” and the “adult” in some tangles mess or ongoing problem. Now it may be time to play, to have some fun, to feel carefree – as though the world was specially made for your enjoyment and pleasure. Being the adult is not always necessary and you have done your part. There are other fun-loving facets of yourself that need to be nourished. Allowing yourself the flexibility to do so, in a convoluted way, enhances your ability to problem solve. Let others take their share of the responsibility, to be the adults, to make everything work. You can afford to do that now as you have proven, time and again, your capability and competence. Your challenge is different now, but just as important. Focus on personal enjoyment and rest.
AQUARIUS (January 21-February 21)
Aquarians may have been engaged in some difficult work and on-going worry since the end of June. Family, health, dealing with the past, and heavy responsibility may have taxed your personal strength and ability to assert yourself effectively. That phase is drawing to a close as you prepare to regroup and to refocus on yourself, cultivating, once again, your freedom and independence. Something about your career is feeling as though it’s run its course. Possibly something creatively revitalizing needs to be infused into the stability you’ve carefully created. First, though, some targeted purging may be necessary. This week meditating on what you continue to hold onto that is no longer useful could free you to proceed in a more exciting direction. Control issues, inflexibility or old fears may have settled into your psyche. Those need to be uprooted now. If you’re feeling exhausted now that could actually work in your favor. Let it go.
PISCES (February 21-March 21)
Toward the end of this week Pisces experiences a shift in focus. Mars activates, through the third week of September, your house of health and responsibility. Your upcoming mission involves figuring out new health routines that are optimally effective, attending more carefully to details, and honestly evaluating what responsibilities your willing to take on and which ones you need to release. Sensitize yourself to yourself. Know how you feel at any given moment and let that be your guide in determining how you redesign your life. Be forewarned that perfectionism, guilt, and feelings of incompetence may attempt to trip you up. You may be very sensitive to criticism during this time. But if you can stay focused, control over this area of your life will allow you to soar by October. Set some self-improvement goals as your ability to discipline yourself will be stellar. Balance exertion with rest, and know that you are preparing for a “grand entrance” into a higher profile, more influential life role.
