Horoscopes for the Week of July 29th – Aug. 4th

On Friday there is a Full Moon in Aquarius just before Venus retrogrades from the sign of Virgo back into Leo. Once again, just to make sure we really “get it,” the importance of cultivating a kind and loving relationship with ourself is emphasized. If we’re still tempted to put ourselves last in the lineup, to downplay the need for a “room of our own” and space to create a personally satisfying life, we have until October 8th to get it right. To state the obvious, it’s so much easier to create a happy relationship with another if our relationship with ourself is a loving, balanced one.

On Saturday (Sunday Eastern time) Saturn turns direct after being in retrograde motion since March 13th, 2015. This is a significant shift. Essentially we are approaching an end point where the time for revisions, reconsiderations, reorganization, and reliving some old reality is over. Now the pieces are in place for us to make some “solid headway” in a new direction.

Saturn and Jupiter are in conflict this week pitting expansion against contraction and uninhibited self-expression against the need for a self-disciplined approach. There exists both tremendous opportunity and the need to work very hard to “make the most of it.” Most likely mixed messages from others reflect the inner conflict everyone is struggling with.

I have posted a general interpretation of Friday’s Full Moon. You can access it by clicking here. In this week’s horoscopes I will personalize it for each sign.

Have a great week!!

ARIES (March 21-April 21)
Aries seems in the mood to celebrate in some dramatic way. Considering where you were in January of 2014 and how far you’ve come, that alone may be cause for celebration. This week you see light at the end of the tunnel. A break with the past is possible. A focus on home, family, roots, and all the complications involved, is drawing to a close. It’s time to tie up loose ends in preparation for something incredibly heart warming and adventurous on the horizon. Lying just ahead is new freedom to indulge yourself in pursuing what you love. What others think may no longer tie you down. Your focus on your primary relationship is winding down. It’s time for you and it’s time for figuring out how to create a life you love. In the interest of balance it’s necessary now to be open hearted and self-centered. If that feels like a contradiction consider the possibility that it’s not.

TAURUS (April 21-May 21)

If you think it’s still necessary to control the possibility that something unexpected may occur if you’re not in a consistent, ongoing, heightened state of alert you’re not up-to-date. This is no longer necessary. In fact it may be time for some experimentation with relaxation, more familiarity with the art of doing nothing, and a new openness to how amazingly productive stillness and rest can actually be. You’ve reached the high water mark and for the foreseeable future it’s all downhill from here. Connecting with a new, more authentic life direction is something that now requires stillness and a lack of effort in the usual sense. Mastering the art of wandering around aimlessly may need to be cultivated. Letting others be “in charge” while you take a nap could stimulate monumental change. Resist the urge to settle back into old anxieties. Focus on cultivating the opposite.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21)
Gemini, if left to her own purest devices, tends to create some interesting new routes and paths forward. That’s because following her curiosity is one of her greatest joys and the path that creates almost never results in the shortest distance between two points, but rather an unusually interesting course. In fact, arriving at your original destination may not happen too often. Most likely you end up someplace else depending upon the detours your mind chooses to take and whether or not you choose to indulge those. This full Moon in Aquarius is a culmination of your conclusions about preconceived destinations and how they influence your approach to life. You may choose to free yourself of them for awhile as you may be burned out with trying to operate in a way that is foreign to your most natural way of being. It may be time to let your natural self take over for awhile before you reign her in again. Give her two weeks at least.

CANCER (June 21-July 21)

Saturn now in your 5th house of uninhibited self-expression, is a fish out of water. He preaches the opposite of uninhibited self expression. He preaches caution, anticipating problems, sticking to conservative strategies, not going too far out on a limb, and a healthy amount of skepticism when it comes to natural tendencies and instincts. He isn’t the one who will encourage experimentation or a lack of fear. He isn’t the one who will dismiss the meaning of failure and painful consequences. So maybe you should pay attention for just a little while longer to his sermons. He’ll be moving on to a different “church” mid-September. Keep it sensible in the meantime, ask for advice from someone more cautious than yourself, and put the drama on hold for the next six weeks. After that, all bets are off.

LEO (July 21-August 21)

This week feels new and refreshing for Leos. It’s as though something hanging over your head for months has been resolved and dissolved. Emotionally, most likely, over the past month, you made some new connections with yourself and now the world opens up. Expect some “firsts” this week and to feel yourself surrounded by more love. As the full Moon culminates in your 7th house, relationships become more interesting and less predictable. In fact, you may feel yourself freed of your usual role within relationships allowing you to experience others in new ways. Your old role and your old approach within relationships is ending. Emotionally you see your partner differently (or partnerships differently). Your partner may be at the end of a cycle of emotional growth that changes everything. Expect the unexpected while breathing a sigh of relief.

VIRGO (August 21-September 21)

Virgo is right on the edge of some important new beginning. But first “finishing up” is in order. Something needs to be wrapped up in order for you to gracefully move into the next phase. Emotionally you are far ahead of where you imagine yourself to be. It may feel more comforting to assume that you have lots of time to adjust and that you still have “a ways to go” emotionally before decisions can be made. But that is not the case. You’re done. You’re there. It’s time to orchestrate the endings and to set them in motion. It’s time to fully cooperate with the energy that’s flooding your life, dissolving the past, and making space for a new, more brilliant emergence. It’s time to be smart about your next move, but it’s not smart to delay the inevitable. Burn some bridges and set yourself free of responsibilities that are begging for a graceful exit. New beginnings are just over the horizon.

LIBRA (September 21-October 21)

Libra may be in the mood to stir something up, to disrupt the peace, to stage a protest, and to essentially embrace the more interesting parts of who they are. “Conflict-free” may feel safe but it’s not particularly stimulating. It’s not very exciting and it’s not reflective of the parts of yourself you love most. This week keeping your wilder side suppressed may be more difficult as the lunar phase awakens your love for mental stimulation and instigating uprisings. Venus’s move back into Leo delivers the message that it’s time to make room in your life for more of you. It’s time to be less concerned with audience reaction and more concerned with what you need personally and emotionally. You may have some friends who would be more than happy to lead you away from “safe and predictable” into something your heart craves more. Or you may free yourself to lead in the direction of something more provocative.

SCORPIO (October 21 – November 21)
Scorpio may be feeling that they are at the end of the road both in terms of attachments to the past as well as their overall life direction. Emotionally they are “over it” but responsibilities linger and anger may surface. The part of their life that “should” provide security instead may be a source of constant upheaval and unpredictability. Another’s “incompetence” may be at the root of your rage. As Saturn shifts into forward motion a more outwardly authoritative approach may be necessary. New rules and routines may need to be set in place and a plan for how to keep yourself emotionally calm and healthy may need to be enacted. It all seems to center around a different kind of mindset, a different perspective, a new focus, and a shift away from accepting responsibilities that aren’t yours. Regardless of the past and your own insecurities, now you must be free of the burdens that rightly belong to another.

SAGITTARIUS (November 21- December 21)

You are ripe for some mental freedom your mind has not experienced for a long time. Confined by fears, repetitive thoughts, small perspectives, anxiety, and overstimulation, finally there is light at the end of the tunnel. The full Moon represents a turning point and the possibility of expanding beyond current mental limits. Recently you may have entertained a perspective or come across a piece of information that changed mental patterns. To keep that momentum going it’s good to place yourself in expansive settings where you feel less confined and free to roam. If you spend a lot of time in small rooms, with the same people, doing the same things, listening to the same conversations, it’s time to get out. It may be time to travel, to begin an outdoor adventure, to meet some new people, to sleep under the stars, and to see new things.

CAPRICORN (December 21-January 21)
Capricorn experiences intensely the inner conflict represented by Saturn’s current conflict with Jupiter (see above). There are conflicting demands made of you and you may make some conflicting demands of others. You may want them to be two different things at the same time. You may wish they were the opposite of the way they’re presenting at any given moment. If they’re trying to lead, you may wish they would follow. If they say they want to expand yet act in ways that keep their lives small, you may become impatient. Developing the ability to tolerate the dissonance that exists within all of us is important. Now it’s time to free yourself of the notion that internally humans can be neatly organized and congruent at all times if they demand it of themselves. Human nature cannot conform to that standard. Once you accept that, your ability to turn frustrating relationships into something more satisfying accelerates.

AQUARIUS (January 21-February 21)
Aquarius is challenged this week to approach all relationships from a balanced perspective. There is lots of opportunity for spiritual evolvement that may be missed when frustration surfaces. Aquarians can be “relationship challenged.” I think that “bad rap” comes from their tendency to “play to extremes” while leaving the middle ground vacant. They have a tendency to be either “all in” or totally disconnected. Even more confusing, they can alternate between the two. This week demands something different. A freedom from bouncing between extremes needs to become your focus. Finding a new kind of freedom in the “middle ground” is your mission. Attention to your own needs and anothers’ is possible. There is nourishment in the center that cannot be found at the extremes. It feeds further growth and the possibility of an easier, more peaceful internal flow within all of your relationships.

pisces otherworldly

PISCES (February 21-March 21)
Pisces is in need of rejuvenation, a break in the action, a less intense health routine, more effective self-care, and a some freedom from their usual work load. Pisces needs to check out in some way. Usually they can do this best through creative immersion of some kind. A new, enjoyable project that requires their total focus could be the answer. Or some alone time wandering around in a natural setting so sublime that it profoundly alters your consciousness. Or maybe a nap, a massage, a glass of wine, a day at the beach, a dreamy love affair (or just dreaming of one) a book you can get lost in, etc. Pisces has reached its internal limits. Whatever momentum has been building since January of 2014 now begins to wane. You may feel the inner shift in the form of something that feels stalled and more apathetic. It’s time to indulge that. Life is a series of cycles. Now it’s time to down- shift. The wisest approach is to align your life with the cycle.
