Horoscopes for the Week of Jan. 7th – 13th

Jackie Russo Mosaic Artist…..

This Week, on Monday, Mars transits into the sign of Pisces. Mars rules our style of action, the kinds of methods we use to make ourselves effective. In Pisces we can expect that actions will take on a more covert, artistic, or compassionate tone. We may choose to consciously “stop actions” to quicken the demise of something we no longer want or need to sustain. We may act in ways that facilitate endings, healing, or artistic accomplishment. Our style and approach may be more sensitive, subtle, or ethereally beautiful with touches of magic.

Ceres, the nurturing asteroid (I think that’s its current classification) symbolizing what we need in order to feel fed and satisfied, changes signs on Thursday – from Sagittarius into Capricorn. Now we decide we need less to “feel fed.” There is a self-disciplined, carefully calculated quality to how we nourish ourselves in all ways.

Saturn, newly in Sagittarius, closes in on a harsh aspect to Neptune in Pisces, adding powerful elements of ambivalence and confusion to our stated aims and committed goals. We may begin to waver fairly early in this new game. One way of combatting that would be to include specific elements of compassion, artistry, altruism, or healing into current plans for the future.

Wishing you a beautiful, magical, vision into your emerging potential.

ARIES (March 21-April 21)

This week Aries may feel more in touch with sensitive, deeply buried, long-lost desires that have taken a backseat to the more immediate and practical demands of life for a long time…maybe many lifetimes. This week you have a chance to rediscover and to revive something long- neglected that has the ability to renew your passion for life. Mars, your ruling planet, moves into mysterious, magical territory this week energizing vital connections and waking up some “sleeping giant” that has the power to return an important part of yourself to you. It’s the part that knows exactly what your deepest desires are. Make some space for him to emerge by clearing your social calendar and arranging for free time.

TAURUS (April 21-May 21)

It is possible that Venus has recently delivered, or will be delivering, some important healing and unifying insights regarding your “aim in life.” Venus wants you to see your overall life design, and to be able to understand the meaning of what you may have mistakenly labeled as “missteps” within the context of the big picture of your life. An important re-alignment may be occurring that makes everything that’s happened seem more deliberate, meaningful, and necessary. It may come as a huge relief. No longer are there “valid reasons” to doubt your effectiveness and competency. Your path is, most likely, different than those traditionally prescribed. Now you may be able to make the connections and to know that you’ve been “on track” all along, and where to go from here.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21)
This week you may come to the realization of how your most natural style and approach needs more space and more freedom. It is possible that, over the past few months, you have been so focused on self-discipline and control (maybe controlling another’s style) that you have not noticed how cramped yours has become. The waning full Moon is strongly encouraging you to eliminate what no longer “fits” you. It is highly likely that you have accumulated resources you don’t need, or accepted values that don’t fit your most natural way of being. Priorities may be misplaced, and what should, by all appearances, be a healthy sense of self-worth, may now be in need of some additional nourishment. Step one – get out some bags and start throwing things out.

CANCER (June 21-July 21)

Highly energized, in a very positive and potentially productive way, is your 8th solar house. The 8th house represents those we attract into our life to make ourselves more successful. They are the people whose strengths best compliment our own. For you, those people are represented by the highly ingenious, unorthodox, thought-generating sign of Aquarius. Venus, the most supportive and loving planet, has taken up residence in your 8th solar house, fortunately in the sign of Aquarius. There is the indication that the wisest thing you can do this week is take advantage of the opportunity to partner with someone who compliments your own brilliant ability to use resources creatively for the purpose of bringing ingenious ideas into manifestation. It is likely that you need another at this time and they need you. Most likely it is one of your friends.

LEO (July 21-August 21)

Leos, like the rest of us, are living through the aftermath of the powerful Full Cancer Moon. But unlike the rest of us they have experienced it on a much deeper, more personal and sensitive level. The fact is,it may have activated things at such a deep level that it was not initially felt. But now painful feelings may be emerging as some sense of loss is felt, several days delayed. Most likely this is related to work and/or health issues. Emotionally something has ended and the painful wound is in need of healing. It is wise this week to spend some time acknowledging and admitting the hurt. Ultimately wound activation shortens healing time. As you “keep up appearances” its good to recognize that you don’t have to put on a show for yourself. Save that energy for recovery.

VIRGO (August 21-September 21)

This week Virgos may experience a case of “weirdness envy” – the strange feeling that they would like to be more like those who courageously emphasize the more unusual, unique, and ingenious aspects of their personality to the great benefit of themselves and the rest of us. There is freedom in refusing to hide what feels “too strange for public consumption.” In fact, something different may be just what the public craves. But that is beside the point. Most memorable people were unusual in some way and chose to capitalize on rather than hide it. This week it is wise for you to consider the possibility that what is to your greatest benefit is to capitalize on the part of you that is truly unique and unusual. The freedom in that is exhilarating.

LIBRA (September 21-October 21)

It seems that Libras have now entered into a space that can feel especially open and joyful. Reveling in the awareness of how talented, uniquely appealing, and naturally brilliant they are can be reminiscent of those peak childhood experiences of exhilaration when some new skill was discovered or ability to entertain was realized. A wise approach this week would be to deliberately regress to a time when no one mattered but you, when full-time play was a possibility, when being unapologetically proud of yourself seemed just right, and when natural quirkiness could safely be on full display. Libra’s spend a lot of energy trying to smooth and beautify the road for others. It’s nice to have a time, like now, to focus, with no guilt, on their own wonderfulness. If you can still do that it’s cause for a raucous ice-cream and cake celebration – with lots of balloons and maybe a bouncy house.

SCORPIO (October 21 – November 21)

Sunday’s Full Moon in Cancer, though currently waning, may have set off a chain reaction that is allowing some old rigidity – where communication, thought, and enlightened realization were concerned – to begin to dissolve. Old mindsets structured to steel you against your own emotional truths had the capacity to place you on “automatic pilot”, to allow you to control most conversations, to not hear what you didn’t want to hear, and ultimately, to squeeze a lot of spontaneity and life out of you. Those structures are crumbling now, all to your benefit. What’s most likely preserved is the self-discipline and strength to accept emerging emotional truths, the courage to discuss them, to listen for feedback, and to express, in especially beautiful ways, what’s been confined for a long time.

SAGITTARIUS (November 21- December 21)

Sagittarians are known for their broad perspectives and wide ranging scope. They are the “big picture guys,” long on big imaginative outcomes, short on pivotal details. Sagittarians’ are those most likely to dream big dreams and to never manifest them because they don’t find doing the mundane, difficult work involved in supporting their big ideas to be particularly fun or inspiring. Now Saturn, newly in Sagittarius, will be teaching them, possibly with a combination of sticks and carrots, how to best support their dreams. In the coming months that may involve examining and changing some long held beliefs, changing routines, controlling negative thoughts, signing up for some higher education, moving away from the familiar, and renewing their faith in themselves

CAPRICORN (December 21-January 21)
Sunday’s full Moon has given Capricorn the opportunity to change and revise his style and approach. There is a diminishing influence that appears to be bringing your life into some improved state of balance. What may be diminishing is some dependent status, some emotional burden, some over reliance on support and feedback, and the need for a flattering mirror that reflected back to you your competence and power. With those “props” disappearing, you are now in a more stable position to reconsider what it is you desire, where you opportunities for success lie, and what your next best business move should be. As fear subsides, what once appeared undesirable may now be seen in a different, more favorable light.

AQUARIUS (January 21-February 21)
This week Aquarius may receive information that allows an important sudden break from the past. Information that could put some important pieces of the past in place has been hidden, withheld, or rejected for a long time resulting in unexplainable fear and mounting frustration. But last Sunday’s Full Moon in Cancer has loosened the grip on some important hidden information or key insight involving health, work, the unknown or long forgotten. Steadily new insights may be revealed changing inner foundations and putting what once seemed confusing into some logical context. It’s important this week not to become spooked by emerging information. It has been there a long time. Its exposure gives it less power to undermine your best efforts and intentions. It’s all good.

pisces otherworldly

PISCES (February 21-March 21)
Usually associated with dark, hidden places is the notion that some evil lurks in the shadows. Underground some toxic mess escapes discovery, and under the bed monsters reside. It is the reason we prefer something lighter and more visible. It feels safer and more likely to reveal “good things.” But this week, for Pisces, the situation is reversed. Diving deep into dark waters we find hidden treasure. Digging yields something long lost and sacred, and under the bed resides a powerful, magical, wizard capable of making all our dreams come true. This week the wise approach is to indulge our natural tendency to sink beneath the thin boundary that separates the subconscious from the conscious, to day dream, immerse ourselves in art or music and to notice what thoughts emerge. They are potentially life-saving.
